Kendra and Stefen Wedding

I love this couple.  That is the first thing that comes to mind when I see these photos and remember the day.  I just love this couple.  Talk about cute- and thoughtful- and generous- and in love.  These two have got it.

And their day was filled with such a warm feeling of love.

They celebrated at the wonderful Cielo at Castle Pines because they loved the openness of the reception hall- and that they could have the ceremony and the reception in one spot.  Fabulous choice.

What I remember most about he day is how adamant the groomsmen were about the placement and the timing of a pink stool during the ceremony- we had to practice even- because it was going to be a a surprise for the bride.  They even had an “act” worked out with the officiant, so when the time came “to kiss the bride” the groomsmen got the stool so that she could stand on it- and not feel so short- kissing her man.  (There’s a little height difference ;)).  AND they painted it in pink- her favorite color.  Yup- so much laughter that day.

We were honored that this wedding was featured in HERlife magazine thanks to the wonderful JM Photoart!  Thank you, Jenny, for capturing their day so wonderfully.

A Castle Cliff Estate Wedding | Sedalia, Colorado Wedding Planners

I just loved Alex and Phil from the first time I met them, and my love for being around them just grew when I met their family and friends.  They are just so FUN!  And so caring!  Such a pleasure to be around (as you will see in the photos). Therefore, I was clear that their wedding day at Castle Cliff Estate would be a memorable one for them and all of their guests…

Along with their amazing group of family and friends, us at Storytellers worked with some of out favorite wedding vendors! Always wonderful for wedding planners to work with vendors we trust!

Getting ready at Castle Cliff Estate on their wedding day, the couple was so chill- the ladies enjoyed their time upstairs getting their hair and make-up done by Destination Stylists, while the guys played pool downstairs in the guys room.  They would peek from time to time at the progress of set-up, where we had decided to hold the ceremony on the front lawn facing out towards the mountains (a first for the venue, I later learned).  With Tracy the Florist, the couple decided on simple floral arrangements, as to not detract from the beauty of the surroundings.  We loved the end result.

Because it is Colorado- we were working that day with lighting storms and rain…after checking all the weather radars, we decided to delay the ceremony 30 minutes while providing guests with cocktails.  HA- the smiles that decision brought and the guests had no problem drinking early ;).  Because the groomsmen decided to do a rain dance to stop the rain, which worked of course, the heavens cleared with enough time to have the ceremony outside.  Perfect!  Thanks guys :).

And then the party began!  Three Tomatoes Catering provided the food, where they create food stations around the estate so that their guests could walk around, mingle, and enjoy the entire venue- this included a macaroni bar, a slider bar, passed appetizers…decadent and with amazing service! The DJ began the music, and we couldn’t ask for a better one with Jeff from Total Encore Entertainment! They totally know how to keep everyone on the dance floor until the very end!  The toasts were hilarious and heartfelt- and they even drank from the Nuernberg bridal cup (a surprise), where they drank without spilling a drop.  A very good omen indeed.

Other super cool details of the day- the groomsmen had super cool socks, the guestbook consisted of a coffee table book with Colorado scenery and mountains (since the couple likes to hike), Saddle Shoe Signs provided awesome marquis signs for the couple, they served mini bundts as dessert for their guests (which got devoured because they’re just so scrumptious), and the food stations throughout the house were a huge success!

All of this to say that we had a wonderful time, and we were nonstop all night! Families like that of Alex and Phil are truly why we love being wedding planners in the beautiful state of Colorado, and why we love what we do!  Thank you so much for sharing your lives with us.

~Cielle

A Colorado Castle Wedding

When I first spoke with Zofia over the phone, I knew we were going to have some fun putting together this intimate wedding filled with vintage pieces, beauty, amazing design (the groom is a designer and owner of AMB3R ), Polish vodka (the bride’s family is from Poland of course), Jewish and Catholic traditions, a coffee bar (with coffee specially hand-brewed by the groom), Capoeira, and Bossa Nova dancing.

The couple wanted to spend time having fun with their family and friends coming into Colorado, so what better than racing cars at Speed Raceway the day before the wedding?  And all sporting their “Zofia and Jeremy” T-shirts designed by Jeremy himself (and they are super comfy to boot).

The invites?  Posters!

11:11.  They were originally planning on getting married on 11-11, but the groom undergoing cancer treatments they chose to postpone the wedding. Still wanting to honor 11:11 in their wedding, they officially sealed the deal with a kiss at 11:11 a.m at the Cherokee Castle and Ranch.  Yes, the ceremony was timed to the minute, with an extra long musical interlude (sung by the groom’s brother) to ensure the 11:11 timing.

The reception followed at the private home of their cousin in Sedalia- with a view of the castle in the background.  It was an evening filled with heartfelt toasts, capoeira references, a bossa nova father/daughter dance, Micheal Jackson moves, a can-can with family and friends, vodka toasts, heartfelt speeches, and delicious family style food.  It was a perfect merging of traditions, families, and what this couples loves to do.

As you said Zofia, you can now tell your kids you got married in a castle!  And a beautiful wedding it was.  I am sure your marriage will be just as beautiful.

Do they get any better looking?  And yes, the groomsmen are wearing ascots!

As you can probably guess, photography was ‘uber’ important to this couple, and when I laid several brochures/photos/business cards in front of Zofia, her eyes struck the business card/photo of Jackie with Selah Photography, and that was the one!  There was no other option.  So, thank you, Jackie, for the amazing photos.
