Napa Valley Wedding Coordination

So,  I (Leah) am off to the west coast to help dear friends from Chicago, along with my brother from San Jose, California plan their weddings in the beautiful wine country of Napa, California. What better venue for foodies and wine lovers than Napa? My Chicagoans friends are hoping to secure a quaint venue for 60 people this June, while my brother is looking for bit larger space, approx.  175 people for  May of 2013.

I have my work cut out for me that’s for sure. Napa and Sonoma are extraordinary places to get hitched,  the views and scenery are amazing. Postcard picturesque.  And the food… Everything is a double YUM!  Makes for a hard decision.

But the logistics can be very tricky. Larger hotels are not close to the vineyards and the bed and breakfasts are small and book up quick.

Downtown Napa, where the majority of the hotels are located, is about a 25 minute drive over windy hills to the best wineries.  There are B&B’s throughout Napa and Sonoma, but they tend to hold 10- 12 guests at a time. One of the best ways to get your guests to and from the ceremony/reception is a car service or shuttle.

We suggest you reserve a block of rooms at the hotel of your choice, then shuttle your guest to and from the reception .

I will report back with my recommendation of car services/ shuttles/ hotels and of course the gorgeous venues.

If you have visited the Napa/ Sonoma area and have a recommendation, please let me know and I will be sure to check them out!

Otherwise check back in a few weeks to read about my adventure!

New Event Coordinator Joins the Storytellers Team

Storytellers Events is growing.  Please join me in welcoming Leah Boucher to the Storytellers team!  Leah has been a designer for over 14 years, and has chosen to pursue her passion in planning and coordinating events of all types and sizes.

In our preparation, we decided to have a little fun during our ‘professional’ pics photo shoot.  Even being in the event business as long as we have, we noticed how ‘posey posey’ we were acting, and how tough it was for us to be natural.

Brides…you are not alone!  heehee.

Again, Leah- we are happy to have you on board and look forward to all the creativity you bring.

Here are some of our ‘posey posey’ photos:

(Keep a lookout- there may be someone else joining the Storytellers Events team soon.  hint hint.)
