Covering up your Ink for the Aisle | Tattooed and Getting Married

As a future tattoed bride myself, I began thinking about different ways I would like to cover-up my tattoos.  I love my tattoos, but I am a bit old fashioned, so for my wedding I would like to have them hidden.

So I began searching for different ways to have them covered, starting with airbrush. Not only was I advised against it by multiple different make-up artists but when I went ahead to try it, it didn’t really work that well.

Next I went to MAC Cosmetics. I sat there for approximately 45 minutes just having them cover a fairly small tattoo on my wrist. Although they did a good job, they did warn me that covering up all my tattoos would take a good number of hours and they would need to be touched up throughout the day. They also advised me that I would not be able to touch much of anyone or anything in case it might cause the make up to smear. So that was out. Seriously?! Not being able to hug anyone on my wedding day? Not happening!

Seeing everything else I had tried was quickly turning into out of the question, I decided to look into different dresses and dress styles I could wear to cover-up tattoos and not look too old school. I knew I didn’t like the traditional wedding jackets out there so It was time for me to do some research and this is what I found.

Lace is perfect for disguising tattoos and keeping a classy look but doesn’t look like you are trying to hide something.

Another way is to wear a cute cardigan over your wedding dress. You can keep it classy or make it more fun and casual. Perfect for a fall or winter wedding to cover up those tattoos and keep warm at the same time!

Then of course there is wedding dresses that are in style that actually have sleeves. From 3/4 sleeves to full length. They are elegant and stylish but most importantly, will cover up those tattoos.
